Pasha started Judo training in 1982 in Riga, Latvia with the sport club "Daugava" (currently Satori School) under Sensei Anatolij Orlov and Alexander Osnach. In 1987 he won a bronze medal in the International Junior Judo Tournament (Tallinn, Estonia) and in 1988 Pasha placed 5th in the junior Soviet Union Sambo Championships (Ventspils, Latvia). In 1989 - 1990 Pasha served as a member of the Soviet National Junior Judo and Sambo Team. In 1992 he won a bronze medal at the Collegiate National Championships and a silver medal in 1994.

In 1996 Pasha moved to the United States where he continued Judo training with the North Star Judo Club (Minneapolis, MN) under Sensei Tom Crone and Michelle Holtze.

In 1997 Pasha moved to Connecticut and joined Middletown Judo Club where he still practices and teaches judo. In 2004 Pasha won a Gold medal at the "Nutmeg State Games" Judo Championship and a Silver medal in 2008.

During his many years of martial arts training, Pasha has studied a variety of different martial arts such as Judo, Sambo, Taekwondo, Aikido, Jujitsu and Kendo. He holds a 5th Degree Black Belt in Judo, 4th Degree Black Belt in Jujitsu and a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. He is a USJA Regional Certified Rank Examiner. Pasha has won numerous tournaments and championships and is a registered Black Belt in the United States Judo Association, United States Judo International, Kodokan Judo in Japan and International Taekwondo Federation in Korea.
