Chase started Judo in 1971 at the age of 8. The following spring, he talked his father, Charlie, into starting Judo. Chase worked his way up through the Junior Ranks and then the Senior Ranks. Starting at a young age, Chase helped his father teach Juniors and Beginners.
Sensei LaPila promoted Chase at age 18 to Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt) and Godan (5th Degree Black Belt) in 2017.

Member of the CT Judo Team, 1998, 1999, 2000.
